The fact is modding a video game is NOT illegal in anyway, and BSG have no rights to enforce not allowing modding. But they also couldn't block the game if the user denies it as that also violate other laws. You'd have to allow the user to give consent, or not. If they did this they could face legal action, especially with BSG being in the UK, and us having GDPR etc.
Would probably at most take a few seconds on an SSD.Īccessing and scanning an entire drive IS a privacy issue and violates many laws in many countries. Do a width-first search of the first three levels of each file system on the computer, plus %programfiles%, %programfiles(x86)%, %appdata%, %userprofile%, and so on and you'll find 98 % of SPT installations. They also wouldn't need to scan the whole computer. Unfortunately, most people don't care about privacy at all, which is why people keep using Facebook, Instagram, Tiktok, Discord and many other platforms that have spying on you as their main source of income. It completely pales in comparison to the plethora of information already collected by most apps, programs and websites you use. It's also not a "privacy nightmare", as they don't need to collect any information about you, they just need to detect the presence of SPT. First of all, do you know anything about what BSG is collecting presently? Second, do you know anything about what other apps and programs you're using are collecting?Īccessing your hard drive isn't illegal in any jurisdiction I know of, and it can't be for a myriad of practical reasons. Which sounds like a privacy nightmare and possibly illegal I genuinely don't understand why anyone thinks it would be hard at all. I wrote about some of the approaches BSG can take in this comment. Playing spt you dont like something, you change it. Playing eft, if you dont like something all you can do is complain. Thanks to the great community of modders you can change every aspect of the game to how you want it to be. are smarter than 95% of the real players but, you can change it and have it easy if need be. these pmc's are smart I've been multi floor flanked and pushed from another position, I've been triple flanked, counter flanked, baited into traps, these a.i. I have 5k hours in eft multiple wipes kappa gamer 8 weeks into wipe type player and I have to say this is not just for noobs that want it easy against a.i. Could not even find tagilla to snatch his hat in the massacre of dead bodies piled over each other with bullets flying at me. I'm have to say whether you like a hard core bare bones experience or are like me just got out of a factory, ultra chad ai tuned up to the (+!+$) pmc's wearing Alton, thor armor with ps12b type load outs while trying to locate all extracts 16 pmc kills, tagilla and 7 scav kills plus the added stress of knowing you have bosses and cultist on 100% spawn, it gets real, real fast and does not stop.
